Tips To Improve Okami HD Graphics on PC


Okami is an action plus adventure video game that is developed by Clover Studio. The game takes you back to the classic Japanese history, which includes Japanese myths, legends, and folklore’s. It tells you the background of how the Japanese land was saved from the evil by the Shinto sun goddess, Amaterasu who became a white wolf to do that. It also allows you to experience how to perform miracles using the classic visual style and Celestial Brush.

The game was initially launched on Nintendo Wii and later for PlayStation 2 in 2012. The publishers, Capcom are now releasing it for PS3, PS4 Xbox One and a reviewed version for PC. Okami PC download can be done for just $19.99.

How to make the Okami HD Graphics better?

However, there are a few glitches with the game graphics. We found them not very extraordinary and there is a good chance to improve them using a very simple tool to make your experience and time worth investing.

To make this the best version of Okami, you need to follow the steps below, which will guide you to download a simple tool that has some hotkeys to toggle some of the in-game effects including bloom, grain, on, and off states.

The tool is called Kaldaien, also known as Special K, which is a special member of Steam gaming community. You can download it from here.

Next, copy the contents of the 7z file to the games install path, if you bought the game on Steam and have C: as your default, install location:

To open up the menu, you need to press Ctrl+Shift+Backspace

Below are the default prompts you can do to enable or disable certain graphic options:

  1. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + H = HUD Toggle (currently includes some non-HUD related effects)
  2. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + B = Bloom / Blur Toggle
  3. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S = Smoke Toggle
  4. Ctrl + Alt + Shift + G = Remove Graininess
