Samsung Gear Sport, the latest smartwatch released on October 27, 2017 all over US. It is that time of the world when technology has become even more accessible and within a click, we are into a completely different world. Similarly, Samsung has taken a step to revolutionize our most important accessory, the smartwatch. If you are looking for Samsung Gear Sport review then here’s my very own detailed review of this marvelous piece of tech.
Samsung Gear Sport Features
Unlike any ordinary smartwatch, Gear Sport comes off with a beautiful squared-off circle design surrounded by round edges. The shiny black watch gives a great feeling when worn. Just as its outlook, the inside is also a work of art.
Packed with a number of features, Gear Sport can be a very handy device for fitness, calories and sleep tracking, online payments, and smart home control with enabled voice assistants, music playback and access to your top Android apps. Some of these, like workout pro and connection with your smartphone work perfect but the sleep-tracking feature comes out as a major con now. Nevertheless, it is still a great powerful competition than the others in the market.
The calorie tracker is thing to watch out for; it tracks your calorie count when you are wearing the watch, no need to add the list of food items you eat every day. Hence, this way it reminds you when to keep control and work hard to cut down the extra calories.
Gear Sport also features a long battery that lasts for four days and does not put you in a hassle to charge everyday like your smartphone.
Lastly, it is water resistant. The strong screen makes it survive tap running water and 5ATM water and depth pressure resistance.
Samsung Gear Sport Price
Keeping up with the strong competition with Apple and other brands, Samsung has set a price of $299 onwards for the Gear Sport. The price seems high but for a multi-purpose watch plus smart device, it is perfectly okay.
Samsung Gear Sport Specs
The design is sleeker looking, round and shiny. Bright colorful screen and the beautiful casing is definitely a plus point. However, it is a bit heavier in comparison to the Apple Watch Series 3, Fitbit Ionic, and Garmin Vivo active 3 but slightly smaller than the Samsung Gear S3. For a smartwatch, it is a little hefty to carry around and sleep while wearing at night.
The watch contains a blue rubber strap that gives a little off look but is at least better than any other 20mm band. Besides that, Gear Sport runs Tizen Operating System and features a spinning bezel to help navigate the interface. This was introduced in Samsung watches two years ago. It makes scrolling very easy and clicking is become very satisfying.
Talking about Tizen, it comes with a list of pre-installed apps like Health tracker, Messages, S Voice etc. It is so flexible that it allows you to download as many apps you want and arrange your favourites on the top of the little screen.
Gear Sport contains a vibrant 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display, which is bold and crisp 360 x 360. The screen also lets you check your weekly graphs and progress in fine detail than other similar watches.
