Microsoft Surface Book 2: The 21st Century Masterpiece

A new invention is always a treat for tech lovers. Same goes the case of Microsoft Surface Book 2 that is not only sturdier but a whole lot better than its predecessor is.  Not just that, you can have both customized versions 13-inch and 15-inch with a price immensely lesser than the MacBook Pro. Let us dive deeper into the Microsoft Surface Book 2 review for better understanding.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 Specs

There are a few major differences between the two models. However, according to the sources, the received specifications for 15-inch configuration are here for review. The CPU is a 1.9 GHz Intel Core i-7 8650U (quad-core) with an 8MB cache memory, up to 4.2GHz with Turbo Boost. It comprises of Intel UHD Graphics and is powered by NVidia GeForce GTX (6GB GDDR5 VRAM) and a 16GB prevailing RAM.

The design is fascinating and gives a feel like MacBook. The 15-inch screen has 3,240 x 2,160-pixel sense display. There are three USB ports, two Surface Connect, an SD card reader and a 3.5mm audio jack. A new specification element is an 8MP rear-facing autofocus camera plus a 5MP front facing authentication camera. Besides that, the surface book 2 weighs 4.2 pounds and is of around 0.90 inches.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 Price

Not very surprising though, but the 15-inch Surface Book is an extremely expensive laptop in a huge price of $3,299 (about £2,503, AU$4,341). This is the highest price that they have set. Meanwhile, the 13-inch costs about $1,499 (£1,499, AU$2,199) just because of the smaller 256GB SSD inside and for a 7th-generation Kaby Lake Intel Core i5 processor with integrated graphics. If you opt for the same 13-inch but an 8th-generation Intel Core i-7, that will cost you $1,999 (£1,999, AU$2,999), and with a different storage option.

Unfortunately, the 15-inch version of the Surface Book 2 won’t be available in UK or Australia until next year. But the 13-inch is available for billing in almost all locations right now.

One more thing to look out for is the Microsoft’s Surface Pen that comes out with the Surface Book but has an additional cost of $99 (£99, AU$139). The cost obviously creeps up a lot after this addition and Microsoft needs to start bundling them together as one unit with a little affordable price for its users.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 Features

Surface Book 2 would be the best selling Microsoft latest laptop, according to its specification and features. It is the strongest 2-in 1 laptop ever tested, a hybrid laptop for both businesses and gaming. The NVidia GTX 1060 graphics are far more than enough to manage all games at 1080p resolution.

The i-7 processor and design split keeps the CPU and GPU processing apart to keep the laptop cool under pressure or when running multiple games or heavy applications.

Other features include the Xbox Wireless radio for communication with Xbox One controllers. And a long lasting record battery life of 7 hours and 39 minutes, considering the previous model lasted for less than half that long. Besides, the touch and stylus response is more to perfect and especially with gaming, it is definitely a treat, not forgetting the high-unparalleled performance and longevity and beautiful looks.
