ASUS, the Taiwanese venture launched their new ZenFone 5 in Barcelona, Spain. The company is set to introduce Artificial Intelligence in various features of the phone. It may sound interesting yet clichéd, how the feature might turn out in a mid-range smartphone. According to the latest pictures, it seems that ASUS ZenFone 5 is complete replica of iPhone X. However, we still don’t know how it will work out as a final product. Let us find out in the ASUS ZenFone 5 review below:
ASUS ZenFone 5 Specs
When you make an ASUS ZenFone 5 vs iPhone X comparison, at the first glance, they both will look the same. But the ZenFone 5 is slightly bigger with a 6.2-inch touch screen. The ASUS ZenFone 5 display has a 2246 x 1080 resolution with an 19.9 aspect ratio that does well to play videos at full resolution. They may seem too brighter and sharp at times.
Apart from that, the ZenFone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipsets with both a 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. Even though it has a good processor, the phone couldn’t be the fastest machine. Navigation does get slow at times and people have also experienced delay in image loading.
The ASUS ZenFone 5 camera is 1.4-micron pixel size on the main 12MP front image. It is capable of taking very detailed images at a certain range. It can also do well in the low light considering its f/1.8 aperture. Lastly, the camera also features a secondary wide-angle for taking pictures at a different angle. The use of AI here lets you take and edit pictures and based on your editing, the phone recommends similar edits to other photos you take in future.
The final and most important highlight of the ZenFone 5 is its loud and clear speaker system. The ASUS ZenFone 5 speakers have support for Apt X HD and LDAC, for an advanced quality. They also includes a headphone jack with gives a different experience.
ASUS ZenFone 5 Price
The price of the ZenFone hasn’t revealed yet but we know for sure that the phone is targeted to the mid-level audience. This means, the phone will be priced somewhere between Samsung’s S8 and iPhone X, or may be even lower.
ASUS ZenFone 5 Features
The ZenFone 5 have various AI embedded features that are almost the same as the Apple phones. The phone can change its screen’s colour temperature in various situations. It is called the Truetone on Apple’s iPhone X. Same goes for another feature, for face-unlock which also represents the use of AI and Machine Learning. But the company shamelessly denies.
Another feature on the ZenFone 5 called, the Power Boost manage performance in critical situations. We’ve seen the same one in Huawei’s Mate 10 Pro. All the features have actually worked well in improving the phone’s performance. And the credit should go to the company for creating something out of the box at a mid-range price.
