Blackberry KEYone Review

Blackberry recently announced the launch of KEYone at a Mobile Congress in February- once again generating hysteria and intrigue among its fans around the world.

People have long wanted the physical keyboard and Blackberry has always been that one company which incorporated both the keyboard and touch interface perfectly, referring to a long list of their previously designed phones. This time they have come up with a similar concept but with an added flare.

A very special thing about this phone is the Blackberry KEYone ‘Black Edition’, which is more than just on old black painted phone. The extravagant all-black design feels a bit old school, but on the whole is very appealing than the typical silver and white designs. Sadly, it is only available in parts of Europe, Japan, Canada and Middle East for now.

BlackBerry KEYone Price

The phone is priced at $550 in the US and is currently available for online purchase from Best Buy and Amazon. It is sold in two unlocked configurations: one for GSM networks and the other for CDMA networks.

One interesting thing about the purchase is that Blackberry is offering the phone on sale for an extremely cheaper rate, but only for a day. This exciting deal is known as Deal of the Day and available on Best Buy.

BlackBerry KEYone Specifications

The phone has an internal storage from 32GB to 64GB- plus a 3GB RAM. There is also a possibility to increase the memory capacity by using external micro SD card. Apart from that, it has a 12-megapixel rear camera, which captures fine detail and pictures in great quality. There are options for various filters and slow motion videos.

The KEYone Black edition has an extra RAM, which is of 4GB, and 64GB internal memory space that makes it more feasible than the standard KEYone.

In addition to that, KEYone has a 4.5 inches display screen, a sharp LCD that combines 1620 x 1080 pixels resolutions. One of the cons here is that this estimation of resolution makes the video content look very small. This is a little drawback if you prefer watching videos and games on your phone a lot.

The phone operates on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and comprises of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor.

BlackBerry KEYone Features

The main standout feature of the Blackberry KEYone is its special keyboard. Introducing a physical keyboard in the era of touch ones is more like winning the hearts of millions. A much-needed comeback, I must say.

Besides, the phone has pre-installed BlackBerry apps, like Blackberry messenger, Workspaces, Blackberry Hub, Password Keeper, and many more. Since they are built-in applications, you cannot uninstall them. Many of them are useful and vital to us whereas the ones, which are not, can be disabled.

Lastly, Blackberry has its special Productivity tab on the right side of the display screen, which offers quick access to the applications you use every day. Like contacts, messenger, alarm, music, Facebook, WhatsApp etc.
